Apply online for earlier hearing date

Announcement - 12 March 2019

Parties can apply online for most NCAT Consumer and Commercial Division applications.  These include applications for tenancy, social housing, consumer claims, home building and residential communities.

By applying online with NCAT you can:

  • Pay for your application online
  • Have your matter auto-listed for hearing
  • Receive your notice of hearing by email
  • Track the progress of your application online

More efficient listing for online applications

Parties who apply online can receive the earliest possible hearing date with the auto-list function.

Applications that are auto-listed receive the first available hearing date and time.  Parties also receive instant email notification with their hearing notice and a copy of the application.

Recent improvements to NCAT’s online lodgement system removes the unavailability option to allow even more online applications to auto-list for hearing.

What if I can't attend the auto-listed hearing date?

If you are unable to attend the hearing, you can ask NCAT to change the hearing date.  This is called ‘an adjournment’.

There is a new adjournment request form that helps parties follow the correct process and ensures they provide the necessary information to NCAT.  Learn more about asking for an adjournment.
