Media enquiries and requests for NCAT are managed by the Department of Communities & Justice Media Unit.

Media access to hearings

NCAT hearings are generally open to the public, including media.

Access to the hearing will depend on the type of proceeding and whether orders are in place that close the hearing or prevent the publication of details. NCAT will only make such an order if it considers it necessary to avoid harm or it is in the interests of justice.

Please contact the relevant NCAT Registry who will advise if any restrictions apply to particular hearings.

An application by the media for access to Tribunal records must be made using the following form.
