NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT)

Accessing and publishing information from Tribunal proceedings

Announcement - 21 June 2018

The President has revised NCAT’s Policy regarding the access to and publication of information from Tribunal proceedings

This policy sets out the legislative provisions and procedures that apply where persons wish to access, record or publish information from Tribunal proceedings.

While most Tribunal hearings are open to the public, those who are attending a hearing should be aware of this policy, in particular regarding:

  • Protocols when attending a public hearing
  • Prohibition of using a device to record any sounds, images or information in the hearing room under the Court Security Act 2005
  • Restrictions on the disclosure of information from those proceedings
  • Requesting access to resaons for decision and other documents held on a Tribunal file.
